Kingston Foiling Sailing Lessons 2023
Welcome to the future of sailing! Traditional sailboats are displacement hulls with keels or centerboards. Foiling boats are ultra-light and have a wing on the centerboard and rudder, which allows the whole boat to rise out of the water. This is foiling!
Kingston Yacht Club is offering foiling programs for youth and adults in the most popular one design foiling dinghy – the WASZP. Wednesday Evening WASZP, Weekend WASZP, Afterschool WASZP or Foiling Juniors, whichever course is right for you there will be an instructor and a coach boat with you. You will stay in communication with the instructor by head set and be able to view video footage to observe your progress. In the longer sessions you will have the opportunity to learn foiling theory and techniques that help you sustain flight and in preparation to attempt more complex foiling maneuvers.
Foiling is being developed nationwide with the We CAN Foil program. KYC is proud to be part of this CANADA SailGP initiative with commitments to professional sailing career pathways and global sustainability. The future of sailing is now - it’s fun, fast, and exciting!
